My stay at Aberdeen House had its ups and downs. The location is fantastic, right near the bus and train stations, making travel super easy. The price is also very budget-friendly, although the room was basic and lacked heating or a window. While the cleanliness was commendable, I did experience some noise from the street, which affected my sleep.
Rooms
5.0
I found the room to be small and basic with no window, though the large bathroom was a bonus. It was clean and came with essential amenities like tea and coffee. However, the absence of a bedside lamp was a bit of a drawback, and I noticed a cold feel to the room.
Service
6.0
Staff were friendly and helpful during my stay. They assisted with finding a replacement bulb for the bedside lamp and were accommodating throughout my visit. However, I wished for a bit more proactiveness in addressing issues.
Location
8.0
The location is a definite highlight, being just across from the bus station and very close to local shops and restaurants. It was incredibly convenient for exploring Aberdeen and accessing public transport.
Dining
5.0
While I didn't have breakfast as it wasn't included and wasn't available, there were nearby cafes offering good alternatives. It's something I wish I had arranged beforehand.
Facilities
5.0
Basic amenities were available, but the lack of a lift and the overall dated feel of the facilities may not suit everyone. I did appreciate the modern shower facilities in the bathroom, though.

My stay at the recently renovated Aberdeen House Hotel was a mixed bag. While the location near the train and bus stations was fantastic and I enjoyed a lovely view of the harbor, I found the absence of a lift and some noisy disturbances concerning. Although the staff was generally helpful, the breakfast options were disappointing, with only continental choices available for a price.
Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was decent and clean, providing comfort despite the lack of modern updates. I was impressed with the lovely view of the ships in the harbor, making it a highlight of my experience. However, I had to navigate quite a few stairs to get to it, which wasn't ideal, especially with my knee issues.
Service
6.0
The reception staff were friendly and accommodating, especially when I requested a room change due to my sore knee. They assisted me with my luggage too, which was appreciated given the absence of an elevator. However, I felt their presence could have been more consistent since I rarely saw them beyond check-in and check-out times.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location is a significant advantage, just a short walk from both the train and bus stations. Being so close to Union Street made accessing shops and restaurants very convenient. Plus, there was a great pub nearby, The Craftsman, which had a wonderful atmosphere. It was easy to explore the area during my stay.
Dining
5.0
I was disappointed by the lack of hot breakfast options, which used to be a highlight. Now, only a continental buffet was available for an extra cost, which I didn't find worth it. Nearby cafes did provide alternatives, but it was unfortunate that the hotel didn't offer a more substantial breakfast.

I recently stayed at Aberdeen House and found it to be a unique experience. The location is fantastic, right next to the bus and rail stations, which made getting around a breeze. However, the absence of a lift was quite inconvenient, especially when carrying luggage up several flights of stairs. The room I had, although offering a lovely view of the harbor, needed more attention in terms of cleanliness and maintenance, which overall affected my stay.

Aberdeen House offers a great location and friendly staff, making it a decent spot for budget travelers. However, my stay was marred by some issues like inadequate heating in the room and noise disturbances. Overall, it has its charms but could use improvements in certain areas.
Rooms

The room I had was small but clean and comfortable. I appreciated the bathrooms having big windows and good shower pressure. However, the lack of heating in the bathroom was disappointing, especially as it was cold outside.
Service

The staff were friendly and genuinely helpful. They assisted me with my luggage due to the absence of a lift, which made my experience better. However, one staff member was a bit abrupt regarding check-out timings, which dampened my impression.
Location

The location is a huge plus as it's close to public transport and walking distance from the city center. It greatly facilitated my travel arrangements and access to local attractions.
Dining

I didn't have the breakfast at the hotel, but I found nearby cafe alternatives to be quite satisfying. My dining experience in the restaurant was decent but the value felt slightly off for what I paid.
Facilities

While the cleanliness of the showers and toilets was commendable, the absence of a lift and issues with room temperature highlighted some facility shortcomings that need addressing.

I had a mixed experience at Aberdeen House. While the location was incredibly convenient, next to the train and bus station, I faced some issues with the room's cleanliness and facilities. The bed was comfortable, and the staff were friendly, but I encountered problems with the TV and the bathroom amenities, which detracted from my stay.
Rooms
6.0
The room was quite small and basic, lacking proper heating and having no bedside lamps. I also noticed that some amenities were lacking, like towel hooks in the bathroom. The cleanliness was good, but the overall condition could have been better.
Service
5.0
Staff were generally friendly and willing to help, especially with luggage, but there were instances of rudeness when I faced issues with my room, which was disappointing.
Location
9.0
The location is one of the standout features of Aberdeen House. It's just a short walk away from the train and bus stations, making it perfect for travelers. Also, walking distance to shops and pubs adds great value.
Dining
5.0
The hotel doesn't provide breakfast, but there are good nearby cafes. The basic options available were limited to toast and cereal, which didn't really satisfy.
Facilities
5.0
Wi-Fi was available but variable in quality. The lack of an elevator might be a challenge for some, especially since I had to carry my luggage up several flights of stairs.
